Cindy is now able to eat (not munch) on thick pudding. Her diet now consists of ice chips and pudding. Today she had vanilla pudding. The Respiratory and Speech Therapists will continue to test her ability to eat/drink a few times a week.
This is what Cindy's lunch tray looked like.
What's under that cover?
Pureed Meat and Pureed Potatoes with gravy. The green stuff peeking out is pureed vegetables.
Fruit
Vanilla Pudding
Cindy tried the pureed meat and potatoes. She almost choked because she isn't ready for that yet. Just the pudding. So she started on the pudding and was full after a few bites. She currently prefers the ice over the food. We'll be watching what she eats over the next few days. We just know there is no BBQ for her on the Fourth of July.

Cheese and Rice! Ice is all she is eating? At least that! Does she have a feeding tube or hyperalimentation through a central line? She must be losing weight. Progress is slow. Patience is really needed, especially on the part of the hospital not to give her a premature boot. I hope Cindy can stay there as long as is necessary. How can she leave if she can't even swallow? Thank you for this lifeline, Debbie. The next best thing to being there....also you have such a way with words and a little humor goes a long way. xox
